Pigeon River Canopy Tours
Enjoy a soaring and gliding experience naturally fueled by a gradual elevation change in Hartford, TN. It takes limited energy to participate and is not designed to scare with big drops as much as excite with smooth gliding treetop views. Pigeon River Canopy Tours opened in May, 2010 and is the only zipline/canopy tour that crosses over the Pigeon River. This new attraction in the Asheville, Knoxville, Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg area includes 6 zips that fly you beside, above and across the Pigeon River and back to your starting point at heights up to 120 feet above the river. You will start on the mid-level platforms of our 54' tower, eventually zipping off the top platform 600 feet to the Double Decker and Pigeon's Perch that takes you across the river. After climbing the 'Stairway to Heaven' you will zip over 1200' back across the Pigeon River to our rafting center. Phase 2 is scheduled to open in September with 5 additional zips and several sky bridges soaring above waterfalls and landing 40 feet up on a rock wall deck. Each participant is provided with state of the art equipment including helmets, full body harnesses, trolley, gloves and tether lines. 2 canopy rangers per group.
This Brand New two-hour experience gives you over 1/2 mile of air time with:

* Finish zip is over 1200' long and 120' high
* Over 9 scenic and historic acres of flying area all within the setting of Wildwater's Pigeon River Rafting Center.
All flyers will need to arrive wearing tee shirts, longer shorts or pants and require closed toed shoes. Harness seats will wrap around your upper thigh, shoulders, and waist so collared shirts and pants will be more comfortable. You will be wearing a helmet, so ball caps are not recommended. Long hair must be tied back and secured and please leave your cell phones in the car.
All flyers must be in reasonably good physical condition. Please do not participate if you are pregnant. Chronic back or shoulder injuries should consult a physician. No hard or soft casts. Flyers must be able to raise their arms over head to self regulate speed and braking. Canopy Rangers will provide safety instruction & back-up systems.
Age/Weight range: 10 years and 70 lbs to 250 lbs. Weight variations effect momentum when zipping. Canopy Rangers will provide instruction & back-up systems.
