The Risk and Responsibilities of Rafting & Zipline Canopy Tours
While Wildwater Ltd., Nantahala Gorge Canopy Tours, & the managing agencies set a minimum age and/or weight for trips, you must also evaluate your own fitness level. Participating in outdoor activities involves inherent risks, and can be physically demanding. All Guests go at their own risk and are required to sign a waiver of liability. Participants should be in good health, be comfortable in water if rafting, and be able to walk up grades or numerous stairs. You cannot go if you are pregnant. Alcohol and illegal drugs are not allowed on or immediately prior to trips. We will remove from the trip anyone under the influence of these substances, and no refund will be made. You will be assisting in paddling and carrying rafts and equipment if rafting, and must assist in controlling your speed if ziplining. If you are seriously overweight or have special medical conditions, you should consult your physician before rafting or ziplining.

Experience Our Three-hour Adventure

For those headed to the Ocoee River this summer, you can now experience the adventure of flying on zip lines. Located just 1 mile east of Wildwater Ocoee, our newest canopy tour adventure has now opened. Wildwater recently acquired over 14 wooded acres just outside of Ducktown that is now an extension of the Wildwater Ocoee Center with a variety of outdoor adventure programs and services. First on the list is a wooded and tree based canopy tour (no zipping over fields or parking lots!) with 9 zip line sections and three swinging sky bridges that highlight the vast history and beauty of this once barren landscape. Canopy Rangers will share both the history and the wonder of the recovery of this area from red clay back to deep green forest.

Each participant is provided with state-of-the-art equipment including helmets, full body harnesses, trolley, gloves, tether lines, with 2 canopy rangers accompanying each group. All Canopy Tour Rangers are trained by an accredited ACCT Vendor and all courses are built and inspected to ACCT standards to provide safety and fun!

This three-hour experience gives you over 1/2 mile of air time with
* Three Sky Bridges
* 9 zip line sections alternating between trees and elevated platforms
* A Spectacular three level platform with long range views of the Big Frog Wilderness & Cherokee National Forest

All flyers are required to wear closed-toed shoes and it is suggested that you wear longer shorts or pants and a collared shirt to help prevent chafing from the harness. Harness seats will wrap around your upper thigh, shoulders, and waist so shirts and pants should cover modestly. Long hair must be tied back and secured and please leave your cell phones in the car.

All flyers must be in reasonably good physical condition. Some stair climbs are required. No women who are pregnant. Chronic back or shoulder injuries should consult a physician. No hard or soft casts. Flyers must be able to raise their arms over head to self-regulate speed and braking. Canopy Rangers will provide safety instruction and back-up systems.

Age/Weight range: 10 years and 70 lbs to 250 lbs. Weight variations effect momentum when zipping. Canopy Rangers will provide instruction and back-up systems.
