Nantahala Whitewater Rafting
Nantahala Fully Guided Rafting- Fully guide trips down the Nantahala's 8 miles of magnificent scenery provides an exhilarating introduction to whitewater rafting. Families, groups and individuals will enjoy this 3-4 hour trip. Perfect for first-timers. Minimum age 7 or 60 lbs.
Nantahala Raft & Inflatable Kayak Rentals- Many groups and individuals prefer the flexibility and excitement of guiding their own rafts or inflatable kayaks and traveling down the river on their own. If you have rafted before and feel comfortable with your skills, this may be just what you are looking for. Minimum age 7 or 60 lbs.
Nantahala Raft & Rail©- A unique family adventure found in the heart of the Smokies. Take a 2-hour rail excursion on the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad up the Nantahala River, meet your guides and enjoy a fully guided raft trip back down the river. Lunch is included. Wildwater will meet you at the take-out and return you to our Rafting Center where dry clothes & hot showers await you. Transportation back to the train depot in Bryson City is provided. Minimum age 7 or 60 lbs.
Wildwater Jeep® Adventures- Join our skilled and knowledgeable local guides by following in the steps of the early explorers, visiting the back roads of the region and learning more about this beautiful region directly from North Carolina natives. Minimum weight 40 lbs.
Nantahala Rails & Trails- Start the day out with the scenic 22 miles along the foothills fo the Smokies and up the Nantahala River Gorge. At the top-of-the-line, disembark from the train and climb aboard our customized Jeep® for a personal exploration. Minimum weight 40 lbs.
Jet Boat Rides- Nothing can prepare you for the thrill of this unique and exhilarating ride. We take you to Almond boat dock (just five minutes away) where you board the boat which takes you out on scenic Lake Fontana. With the Great Smoky Mountains National Park as your backdrop the ride is fun for all ages.
Paddlefish Kayaking- Discover wildlife along the shores of the Lake Fontana, one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems in the world. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for bald eagles, river otter & black bear.
Fly Fishing- Fly fishing is a sport based on technique, finesse and a sense of the ecosystem surrounding you. Time with one of our guides will help you on your way to developing proper casting techniques; learning where to catch fish, and what flies are most successful. Western North Carolina boasts some of the best trout and small-mouth bass fishing in the Southeast. We offer fly fishing instruction and fly fishing trips with professional guide service.
Horseback Riding- The Nantahala Village Riding Stable is located on the property and is available to guests and the public. No experience is necessary for your Western style trail ride. You are sure to enjoy views of Fontana Lake and some guests see (and hear!) the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad as it begins its journey through the Nantahala Gorge.
The Village Spa- This 1800s original Village farm house was lovingly taken apart board by board put back together exactly as it appeared in the 1800s, only better. It exemplifies all of the luxuries of a classic spa while retaining an intimate cottage feel. The relaxing atmosphere and quiet mountain comforts make this spa experience extraordinaryly unforgetable.
