Chattooga Ridge Canopy Tours

Experience an exhilarating three-hour adventure.

More than just a zipline, Chattooga Ridge Canopy Tours takes you through multiple ecosystems and into grand old white oak and maple treetops. Take flight above the forest floor blanketed with mountain laurel, rhododendron, flame azalea, and other native plants. While in flight, watch for our hawks, deer, and other wildlife while rangers share the cultural history of the Long Creek Academy and the Chattooga River region.

Each participant is provided with the equipment to safely navigate the course, including full body harnesses, trolley, helmets, gloves, and tether lines.  Chattooga Ridge Canopy Tours also provides two Association Challenge Course Tecnology (ACCT) trained Canopy Rangers for each group to give insight on the wildlife and to guide you safely down the ziplines.

This zipline canopy experience gives you over 1/2 mile of air time with:

  • Ground school to learn how to safely zip line and practice these safety techniques on a practice zip
  • A hoist up to our Triceratops platform to provide an exhilarating start to the canopy tour
  • Four bridges
  • Ten ziplines between trees and elevated platforms
  • Four zips across the beautiful Academy Lake
  • Over nine scenic and historic acres of flying area with the Wildwater Chattooga property and Academy Lake.

All participating groups are advised to arrive wearing t-shirts and longer shorts or pants in order to have a more comfortable flight.  Harness seats will wrap around your upper thigh, shoulders, and waist, so collared shirts and long pants will be more comfortable.  Closed toed shoes are required for those that wish to enjoy the zipline experience.   Long hair must be tied back and secured.  We also ask to please leave your cell phones in the car to be courteous to other guests and to prevent possible loss of the phone.

All participating groups must be in reasonably good physical condition.  Please do not participate if you are pregnant.  Those with chronic back or shoulder injuries should consult a physician before considering zipping.  Flyers must be able to raise their arms over their head to self-regulate speed and braking.  Canopy Rangers will provide safety instruction and back- up systems.  All Canopy Tour Rangers are trained by an accredited ACCT Vendor and all courses are built and inspected to ACCT standards to provide the utmost in safety and fun.  Allow three hours for possible delays.
